Legendary Rhythm & Blues Revue Tour Back By Popular Demand
March 27, 2007

Due to the overwhelming success of the first-ever Legendary Rhythm & Blues Revue Tour in January and February of this year, the Revue is hitting the road again this spring with eleven shows scheduled for April and May, including a performance in Memphis the night before the Blues Music Awards ceremony. Spearheaded by Tommy Castro, recently voted Blueswax's "Artist of the Year," and his crowd-pleasing band, the Revue also features Magic Dick, Deanna Bogart, and Ronnie Baker Brooks.

The Revue Tour is the brainchild of Roger Naber, founder of the Legendary Rhythm & Blues Cruise, the world's only fully chartered blues cruise that sails both the Pacific and Caribbean annually. These cruises are an interactive blues festival at sea, and attract nearly 4,000 music fans each year from all 50 states and up to 18 foreign countries. Each cruise brings as many as 19 bands on board, plus a variety of special guests to enhance artist workshops and pro jam sessions.

The idea behind the Revue Tour is to bring the energy and excitement from this decade's hottest blues ticket from the High Seas to land. All four of the acts featured in the Revue are favorites of the Blues Cruise community passengers, as tallied by cruiser feedback. One of the most popular events on the Blues Cruises are the late night jam sessions that occur every evening during the voyage.

Featured Artists:
Tommy Castro Band (tommycastro.com)
One of the most popular and compelling acts around known for their take-no-prisoners rock ‘n' soul music. Their latest studio release, Painkiller, has been in the Top 5 on the Billboard Blues Chart since its January release.

Magic Dick (harmonicamasterclass.com/dick.htm)
Innovative and dynamic harmonica player who was a co-founder and mainstay of the chart-topping J. Geils Band, a legendary live act in the ‘70s.

Deanna Bogart (deannabogart.com)
Playing dazzling piano and soulful saxophone, Deanna combines boogie-woogie, contemporary blues, country, and jazz to create a unique fusion of musical styles. Her new Blind Pig album is entitled Real Time.

Ronnie Baker Brooks (ronniebakerbrooks.com)
The "Crown Prince of Chicago Blues," and the son of blues legend Lonnie Brooks, is a powerful guitarist and masterful entertainer who plays blues-rock with deep soul and a twist of modern hip-hop and funk rhythms. His latest release is entitled The Torch, on Watchdog Records.

On the Legendary Rhythm & Blues Revue Tour, each artist will perform a 30-minute set with the Tommy Castro Band, and the show closes with an electrifying jam (the highlight of the evening) sure to thrill and satisfy any blues fan!

The Tour is co-sponsored by the Legendary Rhythm & Blues Cruise, Blind Pig Records, Blues Revue, the world's largest print publication devoted to the full spectrum of the blues; BluesWax, the largest subscribed digital blues publication in the world; the Bluesville Radio Show on XM 74 Satellite Radio hosted by Bill Wax; and the Soul Fixin' Foundation, a non-profit organization dedicated to helping blues musicians in need (www.soul-fixin.com).
